The actress Brook Kerr has appeared for an interview with Soap Opera Digest, where she opened up about her on screen Character Portia Robinson’s illegitimate action. She also justified Portia’s acts considering the threat posed to her family by Heather Webber.
Portia had tampered with the blood reports of Heather which could favor Heather in her trials. The blood reports were evidence of cobalt poisoning in Heather’s body due to faulty hip replacement surgery. It could help the attorney Ric Lansing to prove her violent acts as psychotic reactions from the poisoning and gain some leniency from the judges.
But as Portia is aware about her criminal background, she wanted to ensure no way out for Heather and that’s what led her to tamper the blood reports. Now as the fact is out on the September 23, 2024, episode, she is being called out by fans.
What Brook Has To Say On Portia
In the interview, Brook expressed her surprise with the storyline, she said “I was a little shocked when I found it out”. But she acknowledged that it’s not the first time Portia made a compromise with her work. Last time, when Trina was in jail, she got Oz Haggerty out of his medically induced coma to gain all the information from him.
So, when the plot came around Brook called it striking. She said, “I was thinking Portia is doing it… not necessarily unconsciously, but she’s doing it more like it needs to be done and there’s no loss and no foul”.
Brook neither considers it a harm, nor a foul because nobody else is as aware as Portia about Heather’s connection with the murder’s taking place in the town. Brook says, “she’s ensuring her arrest for the good”.
She explains that Portia was worried about Heather’s Attorney Ric Lansing. She believed that judges see what lawyers make them see. If Ric got his hands on this evidence, he could have turned the case in his favor. So, to avoid any error on the judge’s side, Portia had to manipulate the reports.
“Portia is protecting her family”: Brook
Brook mentioned that there’s more than one justification. Another very important reason behind Portia’s action was her daughter Trina. Brook says that it should not be a surprise for anyone since Heather is a threat for Trina.
It is obvious that to protect her family she will do whatever possible. Upon being asked about Trina’s reaction to her acts, Brook says she supports her mother. Trina will be super happy with the fact that her mother is trying to protect her from this devil Heather.
But there’s a danger hovering around Portia, Heather’s attorney Ric Lansing is suspicious of the test reports and if he chooses to investigate the matter deeper, she might get exposed. Brook mentions the new wild card entry Brad Cooper could cause some trouble for Portia. She says, though Portia plans to put Brad on the spot if her acts get exposed but what if she gets exposed because of Brad.
Brook Kerr has made her points valid to prove Portia innocent, but we don’t know yet if General Hospital fans agree with the actress. Also, Ric is suspicious, so she has to be extremely careful.
