Holly’s back on our screens this week as Emma Samms returns to General Hospital. And it looks like things are going to be messy from the start! Over the years, Holly has been just about everything: Con artist, heroine, super spy and supervillain lackey.

And now, Emma Samms tells Variety, this current return contains “all those different colors that Holly has to her character.” Because this time around, she’s working with “a brilliant, strong, powerful, interesting villain now.”

As we’d expect, though, there’s more than meets the eye and Samms warns us that there’s “going to be some interesting twists with Holly coming back to town.”

Sidwell and Lucky play GH

On the surface, it seems like the villain Holly is working with is Sidwell — heck, we were delighted to hear her voice in this week’s preview declaring, “Hello, darling.” Though it’s not clear if she’s talking to Lucky or his captor. And it wouldn’t be the first time she’s worked for a Big Bad, though the last time around, she was only doing Victor’s dirty work because he had Ethan hostage.

But Samms’ promising us twists when it comes to a villain like the one she describes has us wondering if there’s something (or someone) more to this than we think. No offense to him, but Sidwell seems like a pretty minor villain — unless he’s working with a baddie we know. Because Holly has gotten mixed up with the Cassadines more than a few times. And normally, we’d suspect that could be the case again — except that all the bad Cassadines are dead and gone at this point! Unless you count Valentin, that is.

So while we can tell Holly’s mixed up somehow with Lucky and Sidwell, we’ve still got a lot of questions. Is she working with Sidwell or infiltrating his organization for some reason? Is she working with some other villain and working as the go-between for them and Sidwell? Or is her appearance just to get Lucky out and free somehow?

Holly, after all, worked to set her and Luke’s son, Ethan, free from Victor, and she’s no stranger to danger. Why not go in to rescue Luke’s other son?

What do you think? What’s brought Holly back this time and is there more going on with her and Lucky than just Sidwell?
