Poppy Nozawa (Romy Park) is a free spirit, which Bold and the Beautiful viewers heard more than a few times since she’s graced the soap’s screen. This includes many men in the past. Now, it looks like Tom (Clint Howard) might be one of them.
Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) accused her sister of being a gold digger. According to Li, her sister’s MO is to go after rich men. So, this would leave this homeless guy off that list, right? Well, maybe not.
Bold and the Beautiful has Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) acting like a groupie running around getting things ready for Tom’s “comeback show”.
So, the soap dedicated a few scenes informing fans that the homeless guy was once a sell-out rock musician. It seems at some point in Tom’s life, he was on top of his game. He was a popular performer, and he alluded to this on B&B.
B&B Spoilers: Was Tom One of Poppy’s Conquests?
Sure, Tom might have a blackmail scheme in mind. He could know something about Poppy she doesn’t want to get out. But, his face told a different story when he saw Poppy Nozawa having lunch with her daughter and Bill Spencer (Don Diamont).
He seemed shaken when Deacon told him that Bill just found out Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) was his daughter. Tom looked sad as he watched Poppy and her daughter have lunch with Bill on Bold and Beautiful.
Whatever they have in their past, seemed to shake him up a bit. He showed up at Bill’s house with the free pizza for Poppy Nozawa. Then he was adamant that she knew what he wanted to talk about.
But when Luna appeared in the room, Tom’s face seemed to tell the story. His face offered an adoring gaze, with a note of sadness. Is Luna his daughter, or does he think she is due to a ploy her mother pulled years ago?
Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Where Does Tom Fit In?
While Tom might believe he is Luna’s father, he might not be. Going back to Li’s accusations about Poppy Nozawa’s tendency to go after rich men, this might fit in. Perhaps Tom was one of those men years ago.
Poppy Nozawa needed to make a living somehow to support her daughter. But her Bold and Beautiful backstory is yet to surface.
So, it’s possible she informed Tom, and maybe even a few other men, that they fathered her daughter. It’s possible she collected support from the rich men needing to keep this quiet. Bill was only a “maybe” when they did the DNA test, indicating she slept with other men around the same time.
So, maybe when Tom was at the height of his career and rolling in the dough, Poppy informed him Luna was his. Needless to say, they would have fallen out of touch with Tom living on the streets.
Maybe she’s even the cause of his downfall. But up until now, it’s possible Tom didn’t know where she was. Then fate put them in each other’s paths.
B&B Spoilers: Li Finnegan’s Paternity Test
There could be a few reasons that Li would tamper with that paternity test if Bill wasn’t Luna’s father. Despite being so hateful toward Poppy Nozawa, Li showed a soft spot in her heart for Luna the day she administered their test.
She felt sorry for her niece to have to go through all this. And also for all these years not knowing the identity of her father. So, if by chance Tom is her father, and Li knew this, she might have wanted to spare her niece.
With Li putting so much stock in social standing, maybe she wanted to save Luna from finding out her dad is a homeless man. So, she could have tweaked the test. This way, she gave Luna an important father by fixing it, so Bill was the DNA match on Bold and the Beautiful.
But that seems unlikely. If you think about it, Li Finnegan would be more likely to do this with an agenda in mind that suits her. So, maybe back in the day when Poppy and Li’s son Finn, John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) hung out, Li saw something.
Bold and the Beautiful informed viewers in a scene a while back that Poppy Nozawa lived with Li and her family. She lived there when Finn was in college, so he was an adult. Maybe she caught her sister and her son, Finn, together. Bold and Beautiful would skirt the ick-factor in this case, because Finn is adopted.
Or, better yet, it’s possible she only thinks that’s what she saw. So, to save Finn from a scandal, Li Finnegan has it in her to falsify a test and make Bill the daddy.
Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Tom & Poppy – What’s Next?
Tom might be keeping a secret from Poppy Nozawa’s past on Bold and the Beautiful. But after seeing her new lavish digs, he could smell money for himself in a blackmail scheme. A sleazy side for the homeless guy could emerge, or is his backstory with the free-spirited woman one of sadness?
The look on Tom’s face wasn’t anger when first eyeing her, it was sadness. He looked like a man who watched his family replace him with another man, Bill. Still, Luna’s father’s fiasco continues to be murky. The possibilities explored are vast.
Maybe Tom’s connection to Poppy has nothing to do with Luna, or maybe, he is her father. But if that’s how the Bold and the Beautiful storyline is headed, it’s more than likely he only thinks he is. Still, after all this, Bill Spencer could be the father and the test wasn’t tampered with.
Maybe Finn is her father. Or he’s not, but Li thinks he is from something she witnessed 20-plus years ago. So this would be the most feasible reason for Li to tamper with the test. But what is Tom’s connection to Poppy Nozawa on the CBS soap?
