Ever since The Bold and the Beautiful revealed to Bill that he’s Luna’s father — as if we don’t all know that it’s [Spoiler] — he’s been a changed man. Warm and fuzzy, sweet and tender… and totally unlike himself. There were no group hugs when he learned that Liam was his son. Or Wyatt. Or, well, practically, ever.

So what’s up with the “new” Bill? We’re all for emotional vulnerability, but we barely recognize the tycoon who once showed Ridge the door to a helicopter while it was mid-flight and seduced a murder confession out of Sheila. Has Brooke’s onetime Stallion been replaced by a petting-zoo pony?

Our hunch is that Bill liked what he had going with Poppy and loves what they have going with Luna in the mix. So he’s doing his damnedest not to rock the boat by giving them any clue of how dastardly he can be. He’s seen where being himself leads him — to divorce after divorce from “my Katie.”

On top of that, Bill may be laying the sugar on thick because he wants to make sure that he’d be the last person anyone would think was capable of murders. Yes, murders, plural. Why on earth would he have killed Tom and Hollis? Follow along…

If Bill took Katie’s warning about Poppy to heart, he might have had her tailed. Once his henchman overheard Tom demanding to tell Luna she’s his daughter, Bill could have given the order to have the threat “neutralized.” An extreme move, yes. But Bill isn’t taking any chances where his new family is concerned. (Remember the act he put on when he got the news bulletin that Tom had overdosed?)

As for Hollis, he just became collateral damage in Bill’s attempt to shore up his new life. Now, if the show wanted to keep blood off of the character’s hands, it could clarify that when Bill said to “Get rid of Tom!” he’d only meant for his goon to pay him off and scare him out of L.A. Bill’s henchman could then have killed Hollis to cover his own tracks.

What do you think? Is there any chance that the reformed playboy is, however accidentally, behind the murders? On your way to the comments, check out the below photo gallery to cash in on Dollar Bill’s life story.
