Bold & Beautiful’s Li and Bill Just Left Viewers With Questions — Including ‘What the Heck Is Going On?!?’

The more time we spend with Bold & Beautiful‘s Li and Poppy, the less we understand them. And that was particularly true after the episode which aired on Wednesday, July 24, in which one sister looked guiltier than ever ever as the other had a conversation which raised a flag amongst some viewers. Things picked up where they’d left off the day before, as Katie asked some very probing questions of Bill’s current paramour. Viewers on social media quickly took sides, with some saying Katie had no right to barge in and launch accusations at Poppy, while others found themselves cheering Will’s mom on! And some, like Twitter user Mark R., found themselves stuck squarely in the middle.

But the real questions came as a result of Bill’s visit to Li’s office. On the surface, the resulting conversation seemed rather simple. Bill thanked Li for overseeing the paternity tests, and said that as Luna’s aunt, she was now and forever a part of his family.

“You helped give me a daughter,” Bill declared. “You’re under the Spencer umbrella now.”

Several viewers found themselves questioning the phrasing of that sentiment… especially when it was followed up by this exchange:

BILL: Now I have a daughter, thanks in large part to you.
LI: Bill, you saved my life. It’s the least I could do to repay you.

More than a few folks took to the internet with questions regarding the conversation.

Before the episode was over, Katie was asking questions of Li, but it was viewers who wanted answers regarding what they’d just seen and heard. Despite it making no sense whatsoever, a new theory began making the rounds… one which was equal parts intriguing and confounding. As Rachel asked, “Did Bill arrange [for] Li to fake the results of that test?”

In other words, had Li literally “given” Bill a daughter they both knew to be fathered by someone else? And if so, why? Those who still suspect that Finn might be Luna’s dad (us included) could understand her wanting to keep the truth under wraps. But what would drive Bill to partner with Poppy’s sister in order to hide the truth?

Or were people simply reading too much into a conversation between a grateful Bill and the woman who’d helped facilitate his daughter’s paternity test? Only time will tell…
