Linsey Godfrey Talks the Emotional Weight of Sarah’s Car Accident
Days of Our Lives is diving into some intense drama right now! Sarah Horton, played by Linsey Godfrey, faces a horrific accident involving a car and a tangled web of characters. Godfrey Gets Nostalgic Over the Car-Crash
Back in early 2015, Linsey was on The Bold and the Beautiful as Caroline Spencer. The Days of Our Lives star was involved in a serious car accident. A car deviated from the road and hit her, causing severe injuries. Moreover, initial reports said she had broken both her legs, but she later revealed that the situation was even worse.
It turned out her ankles were dislocated and broken, and her shin bones went through the skin. She underwent several surgeries to recover. Now, as Sarah’s story unfolds on DOOL, Fiona (Serena Scott Thomas) makes her life even more dangerous. She tries to suffocate Sarah with a pillow to cover up the crime.
Godfrey recently spoke to Daily Drama about how this storyline hits close to home. She admitted that playing out these scenes is emotionally challenging, especially since it mirrors her own traumatic experience. In addition, Linsey has PTSD from everything that’s happened in her life. She added that it sent her reeling, so they couldn’t even put the neck brace on her.
It might have been easier if she hadn’t been tied to a car accident, but it was really hard. Thankfully, the Peacock soap understands Linsey’s struggles. How? Janet Drucker, one of the show’s executive producers, offered to provide a therapist if needed. Similarly, the cast and crew were very supportive of Godfrey.
Furthermore, they made sure to check in with Linsey throughout the process. The soap diva recalled her own experience of being hit by a car while her daughter was just seven months old.
