The jig is finally up for Days of Our Lives’ Connie. Jada’s onto her, she’s pulled a knife on Gabi and shown her true colors, and by the end of the week, she’ll have both her boss and Melinda strapped to some chairs, ready to die in an explosive final confrontation! We don’t yet know who will be the one to take Connie down, but we do know that her time in Salem is just about up!

And Cherie Jimenez is aware that for some fans, it’s about time. When she talked with Scotty McCoy for his Slasher Scotty vlog, she had a few words to say to the naysayers of the whole killer storyline.

First off, yes, she is aware that viewers have been going crazy with how oblivious Gabi has been with someone so obviously off their rocker as Connie. But as the actress put it, “Gabi has had so much going on in her outside world that Connie is the least of her worries. Connie just seems so innocent in her mind. She’s like, ‘Sure, Connie’s kooky. She’s aware that Connie’s got a couple of screws loose there, but she’s efficient. She gets the work done.”

And as for Connie herself, “You’re watching a soap opera,” Jimenez pointed out. “This is exactly what the drama [is] supposed to be. Julie [Dove] is doing such a great job because you dislike her so much. That’s how you know she’s doing her job.”

And it’s a job that both actresses began around the same time. As Gabi’s portrayer points out, they more or less started on the show at the same time. Yes, Connie had popped up here and there before, but it wasn’t until the press conference that she really became a part of the canvas.

“And then we realized that they were going to start putting us together and that she was going to become my assistant,” Jimenez recalled to McCoy, “so we spent a lot of time really getting to know each other and talking about our personal lives and running lines and just having so much fun with this whole dynamic.”

It didn’t take long for them to become good friends, and they’ve stayed in touch and still hang out long after the storyline came to an end. Because while Connie’s not quite done yet on our screens, thanks to Days of Our Lives‘ advanced shooting schedule, the show filmed all of what we’re watching over half a year ago!

Now, though, things are rapidly coming to a head and this week is likely going to end with one explosive cliffhanger as we wait to see how Gabi and Melinda get out of this mess and who takes Connie down.

While Jimenez wouldn’t give any details away, she did tease to McCoy that the endgame is, “actually really freaking crazy. It’s gonna be wild. It’s gonna be so crazy that when you see what the situation is, you’re gonna be like, ‘Oh, nice okay!’”
