It was the reveal heard ’round Salem: Days of Our Lives Alex was Victor’s never-before-claimed son, and he’d be getting half of Victor’s fortune. Right now, we’ve got little choice but to go along with it at face value. Alex is Victor’s heir and judging by spoilers, we’re pretty sure that by the end of the week, he’ll be claiming his birthright. (Titan CEO, anyone?)

A lot of fans, though… aren’t buying it. While the prevailing theory for those who don’t believe that Alex is Victor’s son is that Xander is, that may be wishful thinking. After all, even if Alex’s heritage ends up being a hoax pulled off by Theresa, the Kiriakis Black Sheep is not the only one who fit the letter that Maggie and Justin found!

After all, Maggie read about how Victor’s son was being raised by another family member, a man Victor loved and who raised the kid as his nephew, rather than his son. There’s Alex, sure. And there’s Xander, definitely. But that could very easily fit the bill for Justin Alexander Kiriakis. Yup, his middle name is Alexander!

There doesn’t need to be an Alexander connection, but perhaps “little Alexander” is what Justin’s mother called him as a tot, as he was named, in part, after his father, Alexander Kiriakis. As far as we heard, there was no date that went with the letter that Maggie read. It could be from any time. And it could, in theory, be from anyone.

Maybe Theresa saw the “little Alexander” at the end of the letter only to spot Justin’s mother signing it and thought, “No, thank you. This would be much handier if it was the younger Alexander so I could manipulate him.”

And what’s more, that could explain why Victor always treated Justin like a son. It wasn’t just because his parents died, but because Victor wanted his firstborn by his side, but didn’t want to tear away the memory of the mom and dad Justin already lost. And once the deception went on long enough… maybe Victor just thought it was best to leave alone.

Plus, if Alex is Victor’s grandson, a DNA test may not even disprove Theresa’s forging. They’d still share DNA markers, and in the daytime world, DNA science can be a bit fuzzy. For the folks of Salem, that could be enough to convince them. (But also, Theresa could always get her hands on the test and doctor it too.)

With that said, the identity of Victor’s son only came out on the last page of the letter. We saw Maggie pause at “especially,” and flip in disbelief to the final page, which had just four words: “little Alexander. Sincerely, Angelica.” Theresa could have easily forged an entirely new page, changing both the son’s name and mother’s to suit her purposes.

With that said, assuming Theresa didn’t touch the rest of the letter, we’d still be left with the same three candidates for Victor’s nephew/secret son. Alex, Xander and Justin. And technically Sonny, but there’s been zero indication that Days of Our Lives would go in that direction. (Though that would be the ultimate twist! And would surely earn fan ire for taking away Justin and Adrienne’s only biological child…)

So no matter how you slice it, if Theresa messed with the letter, there’s a darn good chance Justin ends up being Victor’s son after all! What do you think? Would you like their ties as surrogate father and son to be made official?
