Outside the Pub, Stephanie and Jada speculate that Bobby is pretending to be Everett. Jada recalls how “Everett” emerged while she was questioning Bobby about Li’s murder. “Everett” claimed not to have Bobby’s memory of it, but if he’s still Bobby, he could be pretending to be Everett to cover up the truth.

In the hospital, “Everett” apologizes to Kayla for his rudeness. He blames it on dealing with his mental illness and working under a new boss. It’s been a stressful time, so worrying about Stephanie’s feelings isn’t his top priority. He apologizes for his continued rudeness and leaves for his therapy appointment. Kayla warily watches him go.

In the hospital lobby, Bobby snarls at Kayla

Getting off the phone at home, Paulina rants to Abe about “Everett” harassing her for a quote about Rafe. What she needs to be doing is appointing an interim police commissioner. Jada is the best candidate but she’ll probably want to focus on Rafe. On the other hand, she might want to work overtime to nail the bastard who attacked him. She’ll reach out to her after her appointment with Kayla.

As Connie reaches for Rafe’s ventilator machine, Gabi enters the hospital room. Connie stashes her latex gloves in her pocket and explains how terrible she feels about Rafe’s condition. As a citizen of Salem, she wanted to see if she could help. “Why don’t you cut the crap and tell me why you’re really here,” Gabi gravely states. Connie says she’s really there to bring her a hard copy of her resume and ideas for Gabi Chic. Gabi tells her how “nuts” and “creepy” that is. She doesn’t have time for a stalker and orders her to leave. Connie can’t do that.

Bobby comes to Marlena’s empty office. Sighing, he notes how stressful it is to be Everett. When Marlena arrives, “Everett” asks to cut their appointment short. It’d be better for his stress levels to get his life in order. Marlena knows his job and relationship with Stephanie are important to him, but so is his treatment. “Everett” says he broke up with Stephanie.

Upon returning from L.A. with the rights to Body & Soul, Kate comes to see Abe. He’s overjoyed by the news, but Kate informs him the three main actresses won’t relocate. Disappointed, Abe suggests recasting, but Kate doesn’t want to be a pale imitation of the show. Maybe they can reimagine the whole thing. Abe laments it wouldn’t be his show then. Kate rattles off the many things they need to do and the people they need to hire. They have a big learning curve ahead of them.

In a hospital exam room, Kayla tells Paulina her test results look great. Her only concern is that her cholesterol is mildly elevated. Kayla suggests a low-fat diet, exercise, and statins. Paulina is resistant to taking more meds. She thought her health issues were over. Kayla believes if she takes these preventative measures they will be over for some time. Paulina asks Kayla not to tell Abe about her resistance to medication. Kayla won’t but thinks Abe would be proud of her. Paulina sighs that he barely notices her sometimes since he’s so busy with his soap opera. At least it gives him something to do other than moan about it being canceled.

In Rafe’s hospital room, Connie offers to be Gabi’s assistant, for free, to help her manage all she has going on. It’d be her honor to serve her. Gabi is interviewing assistants, but she doesn’t have for this right now. Connie offers to get her coffee. Gabi sternly gives her order, and Connie rushes out.

In Marlena’s office, “Everett” explains that it didn’t seem fair to ask Stephanie to wait around while he heals. He is also starting to feel some of Bobby’s feelings. Marlena guardedly calls that progress. He says he’s ready to face his past and asks to be hypnotized again. Marlena puts “Everett” under. “Everett” cries as he recalls his father hurting him with a belt. With tightly closed eyes, he yells for him to stop.

Outside the Pub, Jada gets a call from the station. She shouts into the phone not to give “Everett,” who called three times, specifics on Rafe’s stabbing. Upon hanging up, she wonders what’s going on with “Everett.” Stephanie suggests Bobby stabbed Rafe to clear his path to Jada. Jada says the timing of his release from Bayview checks out. Stephanie recalls seeing him in his hotel room that day. He was coming out of the shower — maybe he washed off evidence. Or maybe she’s been reading too many murder mysteries. Jada recalls Bobby reading a mystery in Bayview. She’s had stranger theories turn out to be true.

Holding a to-go cup in the hospital lobby, Connie rants about that “diva bitch” Gabi’s coffee order. After Connie finds a way to off Rafe so he can’t implicate her, she will make Gabi pay for what she did to Li. She spits in the coffee and then delivers it to Rafe’s room. Gabi says she looked at Connie’s ideas and resume and was blown away. She could use someone like her right now — on a trial basis. Connie can’t wait to get started.

Marlena brings a weeping “Everett” out of hypnosis. He hasn’t remembered his father terrorizing him until now. Bobby must have come out that day to protect him and stayed… until now. Now that he’s remembered everything, he doesn’t need his protection anymore. He has Bobby’s memories and feelings. It’s like he’s a complete person. He doesn’t know how he can ever thank Dr. Evans. She narrows her eyes with a subtle smile.

At his place, Abe suggests Kate play the role of Lorna, but she points out she’s a producer not an actor. Abe knows who should play the other roles, too.

After “Everett” has left, Kayla comes to Marlena’s office. They note their troubling encounters with “Everett.” Marlena isn’t sure if  he was putting on an act or not today, but if all is not what it seems, she made a serious mistake releasing him from Bayview.

Everett stands over Rafe in his hospital room. If he knew Connie was going to try and kill him, he would have stopped her. He never meant for him to die. He just wanted Rafe out of the way so he could have Jada all to himself.

Outside the Pub, Jada says she’ll bring Bobby in for questioning. She orders Stephanie not to say anything to anyone. The last thing they need is for someone else to know they think Everett is Bobby, who stabbed Rafe. In the distance, Connie peeks her head around the corner, listening.
