Days Of Our Lives spoilers reveal that the Mystery of the Woman From Poplar Bluff may not be as closed as Chad (Billy Flynn) would like to assume. Last week’s DNA tests concluded that the woman he and Jack (Matthew Ashford) discovered was a genetic match to Jack, meaning they are father and daughter.

However with Jennifer (Cady McClain) not having returned yet, they never ran the test between her and the woman in question.
Assuming the DNA tests are accurate (never a safe bet in Salem but for argument’s sake, let’s go with that for now) that means Jack is the woman’s father but Jennifer may not be her mother. Which means AnnaLynn McCord may not be playing Abigail after all.
It’s a plot hole that has not gone over the heads of fans and many are theorizing as to who else this woman might be.
There are many rumors circulating that Jack’s daughter Gwen (Emily O’Brien) has a twin sister no one knew about. Or could this woman be a product of another long-forgotten love in Jack’s life?
DOOL Spoilers – Abigail Devereaux isn’t Abigail at all!
It feels like a time did not exists in which Jennifer wasn’t the other half of the Jack and Jen super couple. But years before he turned his life around, going from scheming rapist to upstanding journalist, there was another member of the Horton clan who gave her heart to Mr. Devereaux.
Melissa Horton, Jennifer’s cousin, fell for Jack not long after he first arrived in Salem seeking treatment for his Hodgkin’s disease. Jack didn’t pay her much mind at first but after she revealed to him that he was adopted and Jo Johnson was his mother, he turned to Melissa for solace.
Their bond deepened when Melissa stood by him and defended him after he raped his wife Kayla (Mary Beth Evans). Jack and Kayla divorced and he and Melissa planned to marry but right before the wedding, Melissa caught him with another woman and left town.
Melissa did return for a brief stint a few years later, this time falling in love with Jennifer’s ex-boyfriend Emilio (Bill Hufsey). But after Emilio is accidentally killed, Melissa left again believing herself to be the cause of his death.
She and her sister Sarah moved to Nashville where as far as we know, Melissa remains today although I have yet to run into her. (I also haven’t found this dead body DiMera warehouse in which everyone keeps coming back from the dead. But I keep looking!)
Could it be that Melissa was not only a runaway bride when she first left Salem but a mother to be as well?
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Is the Mystery Woman Melissa Horton’s Daughter?
It wouldn’t be the first time a previously unknown offspring of Ms. Horton’s has shown up in Salem. In 2009, Nathan Horton (played by Mark Hapka) came to town to do an internship at University Hospital. Nathan revealed himself to be Maggie’s grandson by way of Melissa, however his father was never identified.
Does Nathan has a sister? Perhaps even a twin thought to be lost at birth but who is in fact alive and….okay maybe not well but….just alive? And is Jack their father?
Did Melissa have Jack’s baby after calling of their wedding and give it up for adoption? Is that baby now back in Salem being made to believe she is her sister Abigail?
