Days of Our Lives Recap: Friday, June 14 – Chad & Julie’s Chicago Trip – Chanel Forgives Paulina

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, June 14, reveals that Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) offered to go with Chanel DiMera (Raven Bowens) to break the news of their LA move to Paulina Price (Jackée Harry), but she thought she should do this alone.

Meanwhile, Abe Carver (James Reynolds) met with EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and confronted him about spearheading the “Concerned Citizens of Salem” initiative – which was pushing for Paulina’s mayoral recall.

Although Abe urged EJ to call the whole thing off, EJ refused and showed Abe exactly the kind of man he was.

At the DiMera mansion on Friday’s Days episode, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) filled Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) in on the private board meeting that made her the official CEO of DiMera Enterprises.

That’s why Kristen no longer needed Stefan’s help – and she couldn’t help him anymore either. Mr. Wei Shin (Clyde Kusatsu) would throw a fit if he found out Kristen was trying to get Li Shin’s (Remington Hoffman) killer off the hook.

Although Kristen believed Stefan’s claims about Gabi Hernandez DiMera’s (last played by Camila Banus) innocence, she couldn’t risk riling Mr. Shin up and losing the job.

Once Stefan decided he’d go back to his previous plan of breaking Gabi out of prison and going on the run with her, Kristen offered a parting gift.

There was a grab-and-go bag in the safe along with plenty of money and a manila envelope, which would have contact numbers to help Stefan and Gabi disappear.

Stefan was truly grateful and gave Kristen a hug as they expressed that they’d miss each other.

Once Stefan was alone, he went digging in the safe and found the wrong manila envelope.

That left Stefan chuckling to himself as he read the genetic testing report and realized EJ wasn’t the father of “Jude DiMera” aka Jude Brady (Oliver McLarty).

At Paulina’s place, Chanel stopped by with some positive updates on the baby and suggested it was time to forgive Paulina over all the radiation drama.

Although Paulina was thrilled about that, she wasn’t as happy about Chanel’s decision to leave for Los Angeles with Johnny.

However, Paulina ultimately understood that Chanel wanted to help Johnny follow his dreams, so she accepted their decision and suggested a going away party.

Later, Abe came home and heard from Paulina that Chanel had forgiven her. Paulina thought that was wonderful, but she was upset over Chanel and Johnny’s LA plans.

Abe got the scoop and assured Paulina that they would visit the pair – not to mention Johnny and Chanel would surely come back to Salem.

As for Abe’s attempt to talk EJ out of pushing for Paulina’s recall, he admitted he was unsuccessful.

Once Kristen found EJ in the town square, she dropped some hints about her new CEO status and left him confused.

Next on Friday’s Days episode, Johnny thanked Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) for her advice about coming clean to Chanel and shared that they were indeed moving to LA.

Once Johnny spoke to Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) off-screen, he reconvened with Chanel and heard that her own conversation with Paulina went well.

Over with Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) on Friday’s DOOL show, he told Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) about Clyde Weston’s (James Read) latest admission.

Chad said Clyde told him there was a safe deposit box at a bank in Chicago, which contained proof that Abigail DiMera (last played by Marci Miller) was alive.

Julie insisted on going with Chad to check it out – just in case it was some sort of trap or ambush. Chad worried about Julie’s safety, but she refused to take no for an answer.

While they were talking at the Horton house, Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher) overheard something about Abigail being alive and questioned his dad.

Chad got a bit flustered, but Julie swooped in for the save by insisting Abigail was simply alive in their hearts.

After Thomas went back to bed on Friday’s Days episode, Chad and Julie discussed their plan to travel to Chicago in the morning.

Now that Chad had gotten his hopes up about Abigail, he was ready to get the answers in that safe deposit box.
