Days of Our Lives Alum Camila Banus Reacts To Decade Old Grudge, NOT Happy With Recast After Being FIRED!
Drama Alert Days of Our Lives fans! Gear up for a wild ride ahead as we report to you a clash of words between the former Gabi and new! It is no secret that Camila Banus cried foul when she was written out of DOOL because she and the production could not reach an understanding on how much time she could take away from filming.
Camila wanted some time off to spend with her family, while the production maintained that she needed to film a certain amount that was required for the storyline. Unfortunately, they couldn’t reach a common ground and ultimately Camila Banus was axed from the soap after playing Gabi for 13 years.
In a chat with the media, Camila also claimed that she will always remember how everyone on the soap remained quiet even when they knew what was happening was wrong. Months after Gabi’s exit from the canvas, the character was reintegrated into the story after Days of Our Lives recast the role. Actress Cherie Jimenez slipped into the role in June 2024.
Interestingly, Cherie revealed in an interview that decades ago, she had auditioned for the role of Gabi, but it went to Camila Banus. However, in 2024, the wheel of fortune turned again and she finally bagged the role when the soap started looking for a recast. Unfortunately, it seems Camila is not very happy with the recast.

Recently, Camily posted a stunning reel featuring herself on Instagram. Some zealous DOOL fans who still miss her as Gabi took to the comments section to tell her how much they miss seeing her as Gabi. Some of them even mentioned that they aren’t enjoying Cheri in the role, as her portrayal of the character is rather “theatrical”.
Camila went on to like every comment that mentioned her and lowkey bashed Cherie and her performance. Interestingly, some of Cherie’s fans took notice of this interaction and posted screenshots of it to X. Furthermore, they pointed out that Camila was being petty by liking comments that were bashing Cherie.
Later, Cherie too took notice of the post and shared her two pennies worth on it. “I was really hoping that being 2 Latinas in this Industry there would have been respect and support,” Cherie expressed her displeasure over Camila’s reactions. Furthermore, she added “Either way that’s not who I am. So I send her love & light.”
It’s clear that Cherie has said in softer and kinder words that she wants to be the bigger person here and not say anything mean or derogatory about Camila and her intentions. However, we have a feeling that this is not the end of it. In fact, it could just be the beginning of a rivalry between these two very beautiful and talented actresses.
