Jacqueline Grace Lopez who played Allison Blaze on General Hospital has finally opened up on her emotional and sudden exit. The actress recently appeared on an interview, where she shared her sentiments about the character and its fate. She also hinted that Blaze stands every chance to make a comeback on the show.
Last Day On The Set
In the interview with MichaelFairmanTV, the General Hospital star dropped big bombshells. She talked about her exit and how difficult it was. Jacqueline explained, although she was prepared to accept the decision of the makers, her last day on the set was difficult and crazy. She thought, she will have few more shots and that will be it. But surprisingly, shooting for that day ended with her last two seen.
The actress claimed, she could see it coming when she received the third last script in which Blaze was offered a world tour. She then mailed the executive team, and they confirmed, “We love you, but Blaze has to be gone for a while”. Grace said, after realizing that it was an end for my character, I wanted to do the best. Therefore, I actually gave mind blowing performance on my last day on the set.
The actress talks about the last moments of her on-screen character Blaze. Allison had to take the tough route; she bids emotional farewell to Kristina and leaves to join Miguel Morez. From here on, the character remains off the screen.
Second Write-Off of the Character
It was second time when Blaze was written off the show. Earlier in April 2023, Allison’s role ended abruptly, and Lopez found that out after two weeks through Soap Opera Digest. It was shocking for the actress, and she said- “I could not even say goodbye to the costars”. However, this time in August 2024, Lopez was aware and was already bursting with emotions.
Considering her previous experience, she did not expect much. Surprisingly, she got a very warm farewell on the set of the GH this time around. She received cookies, flowers in the dressing room, a bottle of champagne and some costars to celebrate the moment.
Grace addressed, what she received as a non-contract artist made her feel more important and it was a great feeling. Also, in view of the budget of the production house for celebratory farewells and time constraints she was grateful for all the warmth and love showered upon her that day.
Lopez Wants Blaze Back On the Soap
While talking to Michael Fairman, Jacqueline expressed that Blaze needs to come back and play more of her part. She left Kristina to follow her passion, but she still wants to take care of her on-screen bae. So hopefully, maybe someday Allison Blaze appears on the soap to join her back.
