Unfortunately, we’re still dealing with a world where a young Black woman can be attacked just for being herself. Recently, Ali handled online hate with way more grace than most of us could manage. She addresses her haters, saying, “To anyone that hates me, that’s absolutely fine.” But did she deserve it?
GH Takes a Stand Against HATE & BIGOTRY
The General Hospital star was oozing with grace in her tweet against heaters. She wished them peace, safety, and prosperity. Ali added, “I also pray you touch some grass, see the sun, eat a delicious meal, and find something to do.” Moreover, she thinks that stooping to racist people’s level doesn’t help. “We are fighting too many wars as it is.” While she’s absolutely correct, it’s still crucial to speak out for her and anyone else facing bigotry.
It’s infuriating to think about what Tabyana must be enduring. On one side, the soap diva is shining on the screen and killing it daily. But instead of enjoying her success, she has to deal with all this negativity. We fully support Ali, and so does GH. The ABC soap showed solidarity with the actress and put out a social media statement. It read, “We do not tolerate hatred or bigotry of any kind. Racism has no place in Port Charles.”

Furthermore, they made their point on inclusivity very clear, “General Hospital is for everyone.” Amen to that! Since posting it, the show has disabled their Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook comments. Even though the statement didn’t name Ali directly, the revelation made by Soap Opera Digest says it all. They disclosed that ABC had contacted Ali and her team about handling the situation.
After the statement came out, Tabyana posted on X (formerly Twitter), “I appreciate you so much, ABC/GH.” Several of her co-stars have supported her by sharing the statement on Instagram. These include Kirsten Storms (Maxie), Jacqueline Grace Lopez (Blaze), and Kate Mansi (Kristina). And get this: the black beauty has been standing up to racist remarks since joining the soap in 2022.
Despite the hate, she’s been a part of the beloved young couple “Sprina” with Nicholas Chavez (ex-Spencer). It’s clear that despite the hate, Ali has a strong support system behind her.
