General Hospital’s Réal Andrews Talks Ending Taggert’s GH Journey – Spills New Role & Beyond the Gates Hints

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Réal Andrews (Marcus Taggert) is speaking out about his GH status and his sidelined character. For over a year, fans have been sending Andrews questions about Taggert and wondering about his future on the show.

Andrews recently decided to offer some updates in an Instagram video, which revealed the truth behind his journey at the ABC soap.

Although Andrews admitted he had answers, he acknowledged they probably weren’t the answers that GH viewers were hoping for.

“So, my chapter with General Hospital is over,” Andrews confirmed. “The writing’s been on the wall for a long time…”

Andrews just wanted to be honest about wrapping up his time at GH since he felt his fans deserved that sense of closure.

That said, Andrews had nothing but good things to say about his “incredible journey” and all the friends he made along the way.

Instead of dwelling on the loss, Andrews is focusing on the future since he indeed has something amazing in the works.

Andrews credited God with letting him know that GH was behind him and opening another door in his career.

“Now I got offered what is the biggest role in my life.

It’s on the…biggest and best network. It’s got the best director, producers, writers, in my opinion, in the industry. We’re in pre-production for it,” Andrews said.

Although Réal Andrews couldn’t reveal too much due to an NDA, he reiterated that it was a huge opportunity and suggested that everything happens for a reason.

“Everything I’ve done in my whole life was for this role right here,” Andrews added.

It’s clear that Andrews has no regrets about being able to “go out on top” with Taggert’s gripping final material.

There’s no doubt that Andrews did some emotional work as Taggert struggled over the news that Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) wasn’t his biological daughter.

Andrews may be finished with his GH chapter, but he insisted it was a blessing to have been on the show and said “never say never” about his return someday.

In the meantime, Andrews made predictions about his mind-blowing new project and was eager to share more once he was allowed to.

Considering the clues he offered, it’s led to speculation about Andrews potentially joining Beyond the Gates.

CBS’ newest soap is currently in pre-production just like the project Andrews hinted about, so could he be joining the upcoming daytime drama?
