He opened up about his routine, which he calls a “program.” In one month’s time, he has taught the same program to 500 women. It requires dedication and sticking to a schedule.

The General Hospital star said that he wakes up just before 4 a.m. each day. Before he does anything else, he works on getting himself to a place of gratitude.

“I do prayer, I do mediation, I do breathing,” he told Maurice Benard. “I do some visualization of the things that I want in my life and the things that I’m grateful for. And as an actor, it’s easy, because we feel gratitude.”

Maurice Applauds Steve For His Perserverance

As Steve was talking about his routine, Maurice asked him, “Can I just say one thing?” He continued, “I believe that what you’ve been through in the last two, three years is one of the most difficult things any man can go through.”

Neither of them went into detail about what Maurice was referring to. However, it is known that Steve Burton has gone through a tough divorce. On top of that, he was only recently welcomed back to General Hospital after being let go in 2021. Steve refused to get the COVID vaccine and ABC had a mandate at the time that stated all actors on ABC sets must be vaccinated.

“I believe now that I hear you talking, that you had to go through that to be able to do what you’re doing now,” Maurice told Steve. To which his GH co-star replied, “One hundred percent.”

Steve Burton continued, saying that he wouldn’t wish what happened to him on anyone.

“I believe God was preparing me because I was doing this routine that I’m talking about for a year prior,” he said. “Life’s going to smack you in your face and you really figure out who you are during the tough times.”
