Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place! General Hospital has taken Ava from running scared that Sonny is going to send her swimming with the fishes to fearing that Cates is going to “disappear” her.

Last week, Sonny warned Ava that she was in far greater danger from “Jagger” than from him. The false statement that the federal agent had her make to the authorities turned her into a liability for Cates, a loose end that he’s going to want to snip. But understandably, given how often Sonny has threatened her life, Ava didn’t buy a word of what he was saying… not until it was too late. 

Now, Cates has Ava in his clutches. The bad news is… it looks like Sonny was right and John does plan to send her to an early grave. In fact, by Friday, August 30, she’s shaking in her stylish shoes.

The good news is… no way will the show let that happen. 1. Maura West is if not the best in the business, one of the best. The Emmy winner’s place on the canvas is or oughta be secure. 2. General Hospital has set up one of the scenarios it enjoys playing the most: a chance for Sonny to ride to the rescue and make us forget about all the bad things he’s done. (Not for nothing, but we’ll be a lot less surprised if it’s a certain other character who dies.)
