On today’s General Hospital, Drew and Curtis sit down to talk about McKonkey’s death… and how he and Willow kissed. He doesn’t know how to fix this. Curtis says it was just an emotional moment that got out of hand. “But it’s more than that.” They’ve been getting closer and there’s an attraction that’s getting stronger.

Curtis assures Drew that everyone makes mistakes, but Drew feels like he’s taking advantage of Willow. Curtis tells him he can put a stop to this before it goes too far, but Drew thinks it already has.

Kristina comes downstairs searching for the gun and panics when she can’t find it. Michael and Willow get back home and he checks on how she is. Willow admits she’s shaky, but just needs sleep. There’s something she needs to tell him first. She starts talking about McKonkey and Drew and wanting to comfort him when Kristina calls, distraught, asking Michael to come right away.

He rushes over while Kristina tells him about the gun and how it’s gone missing. Maybe it fell out at the grave or in the car. “Why did you need the gun?” Michael asks. To get justice, she tells him, on Cates and Ava. She goes off, only for Michael to stop her and tell her Cates is dead. She swears she didn’t do it and Michael believes her.

“Then it’s over. Thank God,” she sighs.

Just then, Alexis makes a panicked phone call on the bridge, begging someone to call her back. She doesn’t know what to do, a client of hers may have violated bail. She clutches the gun and checks her phone, trying to calm herself. After a breath, she tosses it into the river — just as Liz and Ric show up.

They greet each other and she says she was stressed and needed some fresh air and a walk. “Think we just witnessed you littering,” he points out. She says she threw her broken phone in the river. She got frustrated and tossed it. She already regrets it… and runs off to leave them to their ice cream.

Neither of them believe it was a phone. “That was definitely a gun,” Liz says. The question is why. Ric thinks it had something to do with one of her daughters, but hopes it’s not his. Alone, Willow looks at a photo of her and Michael’s wedding and starts crying.

Brick, meanwhile, meets with Jordan, who says she’s been wanting to call and owes him a date. This, though, is her asking for a favor. She’s hoping he can ID Isaiah, since the police are coming up short. Brick, though, says he could wake up and tell them who he is before he can even get started. But he’ll do it. For a price.

He wants to know why this is so important to her. The way he was injured bothers her — she thinks he was being chased and she’s still an investigator. They talk about his past and he says he always worked security, first for the military, then he became disillusioned and freelances now. He then leaves to ID her guy, but not before they both make plans for a real date. They hug goodbye and he kisses her on the cheek, leaving Jordan smiling on her own.

GH's Sidwell looks upset as he talks

Over at Sidwell’s, Lucky’s brought in to play cards. Lucky suggests that if he wins, he goes free, while Sidwell counters that winning will keep him alive. If he loses, he dies. They talk about what’s keeping Sidwell up and he says it’s a woman he met at the tables in Monte Carlo. Beauty, elegance, charm, the kind of woman you never forget.

Lucky flashes to dancing with Liz, then turns over a winning hand. Sidwell marvels that if Lucky’s cheating, he can’t see it, and he always can. Lucky asks if they can change the stakes, but Sidwell says the stakes are the same and they play until he wins. Lucky knows he’ll lose sooner or later.

Mac pops into Robert’s office with news of Cates’ death and an admission that half of Port Charles are suspects. “But there’s one that’s ahead of the pack.” They talk about letting Robin know, and Mac says he’ll call her. They then ponder that Sonny had plenty of motive and opportunity. They talk about how Cody didn’t hear anything, but Robert says he’s far from a reliable witness. Cody defends his son, then says one of Robert’s loves has a pretty colorful past.

Diane arrives at the PCPD to talk to Jason and Ava, though she’s less than thrilled when Jason says he needs her to help them both. Ava starts telling Diane about Boyle, but gets cut off when Diane says she’s Jason’s lawyer, Ava is on her own. Jason insists she help them both.

Shortly after, Anna sits down with them all, where Ava tells her about how Cates forced her to file a statement about Kristina, put her with “Agent” Boyle and tried to have her killed. Jason takes over after they got to the Pine Barrens, saying he showed up, disarmed Boyle and they called the cops. “That’s it?” Anna asks.

Ava wants to know what’s going to happen after she leaves. Cates isn’t going to start until after she’s dead. “I don’t think you have to worry about that anymore,” Anna says. “Well good riddance!” Ava responds. Anna then says they were able to corroborate everything and they’re both free to go.

Ava thanks them all and runs out, but Anna stops Jason before he leaves. Diane asks if she should stay and Jason says she can go. Anna’s proud of him for calling the police. She then asks what he can tell her about Cates’ murder. He doesn’t know anything.

Anna knows Cates went bad and a lot of people wanted him dead. Jason and Sonny were at the top of the list, but Jason has an airtight motive. Sonny doesn’t.

Sonny and Carly get back to his place to get their stories straight. “I know where I was when John Cates was murdered,” Carly says. “Where were you?” All that matters, Sonny says, is that Jagger’s dead and can’t hurt anyone ever again. Carly doesn’t appreciate that Sonny implied to the cops and everyone that they were having a tryst. Sonny says that with everything they’ve been through, he still trusts her with his life.

She pieces things together, but Sonny won’t admit anything one way or another because they don’t have spousal privilege. He can’t tell her anything… unless she marries him again. Carly’s very clear when she tells him that’s not happening. Sonny says that’s fine, at least he’ll be in the FBI’s crosshairs instead of Kristina. He’s sorry to drag her in, but working together tonight is kind of like old times.

They go over how Sonny seduced her “this time.” Carly laughs at Sonny’s idea, then comes up with a better timeline and cover story about how they got caught in the rain and one thing led to another. Sonny likes her version.

In the show’s last few minutes, Curtis says feelings aren’t actions or a betrayal and they don’t have to act on them. Drew says Willow is in pain because of him, but Curtis says they should both forgive themselves and then each other. “Forget it ever happened. Let it go.” Drew won’t ever act on his feelings again. Willow dreams about Michael coming home and climbing into bed with her, kissing her, and suddenly he becomes Drew and she gives in.

Robert calls Holly saying he’s thinking of her and hopes she’s staying out of trouble. “Call me.” Alexis bursts in needing to talk about Cates and is horrified to learn he’s just been shot dead. Kristina asks what Michael did when he found Cates and he fills her in. “But you didn’t see who shot him? Do you think it was dad?” Michael insists it wasn’t.

Anna tells Jason that if Sonny didn’t do it, he better have a great alibi. Once upon a time Cates was a good man and friend to Robin. Whatever was worth saving in him was gone ages ago. But he’s still an FBI agent. Whoever shot him will spend their life in prison.

Sonny and Carly get things straight, but before she can leave, Sonny convinces her to stay to make the alibi stronger. She’ll stay in the guest room. The one Ava didn’t use. Sonny pulls out his gun safe and sees one of his guns is missing. “Son of a bitch!”
