As the Plug Is Pulled On General Hospital in Some Markets, You Can Still Watch — Here’s How

Sonny just shot and killed an FBI agent in cold blood. Lucky’s returning to Port Charles and Holly’s about to pop up on screen again. And Sam’s death is just on the horizon. In other words, now is not the time that you want to miss General Hospital. Unfortunately, for a decent slice of viewers they don’t have any choice as the show (and its channel) have been yanked from their TVs.

Because right now, a spat between Disney and DirecTV has yanked channels like Disney Channel, ESPN and, of course, ABC from DirecTV. Why? It all comes down to money as Disney wants providers to carry and pay for all their channels, while DirecTV wants to be able to offer channel packages and offer smaller bundles to customers.

These things happen from time to time as cable providers fight with media companies like Disney, though at the end of the day, they do tend to work themselves out. Sometimes, it may take a little while, though, and that’s cold comfort to viewers who’ve lost their channels and their shows. Viewers like General Hospital fans.

For now, DirecTV subscribers are out of luck, but all isn’t lost and no, the show isn’t canceled.
