Young & Restless Exclusive: Joshua Morrow Unzips His Lips About the On-Screen Kiss That Would’ve Changed Genoa City History
It’s always fun to look back at daytime characters and wonder why they never hooked up. Or, they had their romantic moment, but they let it slip away. Well, Joshua Morrow has some delicious thoughts on the unexpected character Nick should have hooked up with — and we are here for his retelling of The Young and the Restless scene where their love connection passed them by.
Morrow thinks that the show missed the opportunity to put Nick and — are you ready for it — Lily together. “The unexpected character I would love to mix him up with is Lily,” he reveals. “I’ve wanted to have a story with her for a while. I think Christel [Khalil] is awesome to watch.” Describing his Young and the Restless co-star as “an extremely beautiful and talented woman,” he “feels like [it’s] the one pairing that hasn’t really happened” on the show.

Of course, “Nick loves beautiful women,” so Lily would be a natural “draw” for him. And that’s when Morrow cracks open The Young and the Restless archives with a Genoa City scene that could have changed everything for Nick and Lily. He recalls, “I remember there was an awesome scene when Nick had the bar [The Underground]. She had just gotten out of a breakup or something and she was having a drink at the bar. She’s like, ‘I’m just tired of being the girl that everybody can count on. I should just, I don’t know, just kiss you right now’ or something along those lines.”
Morrow remembers Nick being “taken aback by it” by what Lily was implying. Yet that moment never came to fruition because she then joked, “I’m just kidding.” Nick got friend-zoned! That’s why he thinks “it’s time for Nick and Lily to have” a fling even though he knows that “the Shick people are very passionate” and “hate Nick” if he’s not with Sharon. On the flip side, Morrow says that Team Phick thinks “Nick’s just wasting his time until he comes back to Phyllis,” but we have to know how they would feel about Lick. Would Nick and Lily get their own “very passionate, committed group?” That’s the question that has yet to be answered.
