In real life, Melissa Claire Egan just celebrated the first birthday of her youngest son, “Baby Jake! Jake Joseph,” who made a dramatic early entrance into the world and, we’re sure, had his parents more than a little worried. These days, he’s happy and healthy and mom, dad and big brother Caden have plenty of reason to celebrate.

“We can’t believe you are 1 today,” Egan shared on Instagram. “You came into this world a month early, 10 days in the NICU. You were and are such a fighter and strong little boy. Every time you lock eyes with someone, you smile. You’re a true little angel and bring everyone such joy. We love you so much, Happy Birthday my baby.”

He’s come a long way from that tiny preemie baby sleeping on mom in that last sweet photo. And judging by that happy smile, we’ve got no doubt Egan and husband Matt Katrosar are giving him all the love he can handle!
