The Young and the Restless Monday, August 5 Recap: Summer Derails Jack & Diane’s Anniversary, Lucy Sneaks Booze

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, August 5, reveals that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will seem distracted as Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) updates her on the concert and her concerns about giving Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) the wrong idea.

Faith will admit Lucy is too clingy and will suspect that Lucy is becoming obsessed with her, so she’ll worry about making her think they’re besties.

Sharon will urge Faith to embrace doing something nice for Lucy and be direct about boundaries moving forward.

At the GCAC, Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) will try to pump the brakes over Lucy going to the concert with Faith, but she’ll eventually relent.

That said, Heather and Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) will have a list of rules for Lucy to follow so that she stays safe – including no drinking.

Once Lucy heads out, Heather will fret over the lies that Lucy has been telling.

Daniel will seem less concerned and will act like Lucy’s just at a tough age where she wants to fit in.

Daniel will share his plans for a game to honor Cassie Newman’s (Camryn Grimes) memory – and he’ll also hope that maybe Lucy’s friendship with Faith could help them all move beyond the past.

At the cottage, Lucy will show up and gush over Faith’s outfit before their rideshare arrives.

The girls will stop off at the coffeehouse, where Lucy will continue behaving awkwardly as she burns her lip on coffee.

On the patio, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will decline Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) call on Summer Newman’s (Allison Lanier) phone, so Summer will gently scold her for it.

However, Phyllis will keep the focus on Summer’s custody fight preparations since everything she does from now on will be scrutinized.

As a result, there’ll be moments when Phyllis plays up Harrison Abbott’s (Redding Munsell) bond with his mom and encourages him to tell everyone – including judges – all about it.

Harrison will have fun playing games with Summer and Phyllis, but then he’ll get upset over his forgotten lucky charm.

At the Abbott mansion, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will surprise Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) with a romantic setup – complete with tons of flowers and an anniversary gift.

Once Diane opens that present, she’ll find that Jack had his vows framed to honor the traditional first anniversary gift of paper.

As for Diane, she’ll mention getting the boudoir ready for Jack and will delight him with some love-related coupons he can redeem.

Summer will bring Harrison by to get his lucky charm, so she’ll apologize for interrupting the obvious celebration.

Jack and Diane won’t mind the chance to see Harrison, but they’ll quiz Summer about the custody battle while he’s upstairs.

Despite their issues with Kyle, Diane and Jack will acknowledge that he loves Harrison.

Even so, Summer will stand her ground on pursuing sole custody and will leave them both worried.

Nevertheless, Jack and Diane will choose to focus on celebrating their happy marriage once Summer and Harrison take off.

At the cottage again on Monday’s Y&R episode, Sharon will look rattled as she realizes just how distracted she’s been. There’ll be ink all over Sharon’s hand from the pen she’s been holding.

Back at Crimson Lights, Phyllis will notice that Faith and Lucy are together, so she’ll approach them and hear about their concert plans.

Although Phyllis will think it’s wonderful that Lucy and Faith are hanging out, Sharon will give Phyllis a dirty look when she arrives and hurry the girls along.

Sharon will also hint about Lucy’s clinginess, so Phyllis will be offended over her implying that Lucy’s a stalker.
.
At the fairgrounds for the concert, Lucy will keep embarrassing herself around Faith, so she’ll decide it’s time to relax while Faith is in the restroom.

That’ll lead to Lucy pulling a container from her bag that she’s used to smuggle in booze.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Lucy is headed for trouble, so we’ll bring you more predictions on all the alarming news to come.
