The Young and the Restless’ Melissa Claire Egan Spills Chelsea’s ‘Juicy’ Drama, Predicts Passionate Fan Response

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) has had a lot on her plate lately due to Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) OCD storyline and the heartbreak that’s brought for her.

Although Chelsea has been leaning on Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and even Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), it’s still been a real struggle.

It’ll take some time for Connor to find his groove at his facility and truly get the help he needs.

However, the show apparently has another storyline in the works for Chelsea – one that sounds like it’ll be the perfect recipe for soapy drama.

On the red carpet at the Daytime Emmys, Michael Fairman TV scored an interview with Melissa Claire Egan and got the scoop on what’s ahead for her character.

“There is an amazing, juicy, fun storyline happening this summer…Chelsea’s involved in something that has been so much fun to play,” Egan teased.

Melissa Claire Egan admitted she had to be careful in how she worded things to avoid spilling too much.

Although Egan didn’t want to ruin the surprise before her new material airs, she’s clearly excited about it and feels confident that fans “are gonna love it – or even if you don’t love it, you’re gonna feel passionate about it.”

Since Egan is really playing up the fun nature of what’s in store, this obviously isn’t related to Connor’s sad ordeal.

Connor’s OCD storyline is gripping and important, but it’s not exactly the light summer fare that many viewers are looking for.

Summer is when the show should really sizzle, so that’s seemingly the kind of thing Egan’s hinting at.

Although a cheating story is possible for Chelsea, there’s a chance this could be something else entirely.

Chelsea decided to step away from Marchetti and devote more time to Connor, but what happens if he settles in and she feels comfortable working again?

If Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) wants Chelsea and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) to be her next big fashion duo, that could lead to their rivalry being revisited in a fun way.

Then again, maybe Chelsea could opt to head down a different career path.

Could Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) recruit Chelsea as part of his plan to take down Jabot?

It might be interesting if Chelsea ends up at Glissade, but we’ll just have to see how it all plays out!
